Rui Hachimura is a professional basketball player from Toyama Prefecture. After making his mark at Okuda Junior High School, Meisei High School, and Gonzaga University, he made history in 2019 as the first Japanese player drafted in the NBA first round, joining the Washington Wizards. He moved to the Los Angeles Lakers in 2023. Hachimura represented Japan at the 2021 Tokyo and 2024 Paris Olympics. Since 2025, he has hosted the "BLACK SAMURAI CAMP," the first-ever large-scale basketball camp at IG Arena in Japan. With Rui and Phil Handy directly teaching the kids, the camp gives middle and high school students a chance to truly experience the global stage.
